It's so deep, so real, so cute, I can't explain it with words. The stories and the characters are touching, you will be moved to tears in every episode. This is, without exaggeration, one of the best anime of all time. I always loved Ishinomori-sama's manga, and seeing his classic Cyborg 009 back to life in these days is incredible. True, today´s anime style has evolved, but it still looks very very similar to the one used in its first days.
That is great, since the show brings back to life the original style.
Hardcore Anime fans like me will recognize the cute anime used in the dawn of the style, which was the same used in Tetsuwan Atom, (known as Astroboy in the U.S) Tetsujin 28, and others back in the time. The anime art is exactly identical to the one seen back in the 60's. All the 00 cyborgs from the manga return and the action is non-stop, superbly written stories and wonderful anime art. The story of the manga is retold in awesome color, fantastic art and animation, and superb music and storylines. It's the same characters from the original, in a new anime. Now, enter Cyborg 009, the new 2001 anime. I remember the original episodes were reaired where I live some years ago, so I could watch some of them. So He gave unto man an opportunity to atone for his misdeeds and flame and smoke and the roar of a lion descended upon earth and shattered the many towers to dust.Cyborg 009 is a classic anime from 1966, the translation to TV of Ishinomori Shoutarou's manga. Scattering across the land and laying it to waste, man turned a deaf ear to His Voice. But those who dwelt upon the land, through vanity, cunning and greed, attempted to build a multitude of towers whose tops reached unto heaven, and accumulated great wealth on earth. "In the beginning was the Voice, and the word was Him and all obeyed His word in great awe. So He gave unto man an opportunity to atone for his misdeeds and flame and smoke and the roar of a lion descended upon earth and shattered the many towers to dust."
Decades later, the nine cyborgs seem to be untouched by time, but they live in a world where "justice" has as many nuances as the number of people living on the planet. The nine cyborgs rebel and start to fight against their creators in the name of justice and world peace. Nine regular humans from different parts of the world are abducted and transformed into cyborgs with astounding powers for the purpose of being used as weapons.
